Overview Leverage shares is looking for a Product Developer to build and manage its new US ETF business. The candidate will report to the firm’s Head of Product based in London. This is a multifaceted, high-profile role that requires frequent interaction at senior levels of the firm to create and evolve our US ETF product platform and drive alignment with our global initiatives. You will work closely with the European Product and Trading team, and the soon-to-be assembled US team (particularly US Legal). While Leverage Shares is currently a European-focused business, senior management resides in the US and is engaged in the day-to-day running of the business, so expect interaction at the highest level. Main Responsibilities The US Product Developer will be key to coordinate and drive all activities from product ideation, structuring, listing on US exchanges to product management / maintenance. This includes:
  • Liaising with service key providers, including index providers, fund administrators, operations and legal to drive best-in-class products to market;
  • Supporting Head of Product to prepare business case for product pipeline and product budgets, including review of competing ETFs in the US and Europe;
  • Supporting our legal function with analysis and interpretation of applicable legal requirements. This may include also review of 1940 Act fund registration statements, prospectuses, and other regulatory filings prepared by our lawyers;
  • Involvement in investment, marketing and operational issues related to the funds;
  • Building scalable US product processes and improve them systematically, leveraging existing processes from the European Product Team;
  • Work on mergers, product changes, and creation of new funds.
Job Requirements
  • Prior experience (3+ years) on a US ETF product development/product management capacity. We’ll consider candidates from a fund administration role with the knowledge and ability to transition into a wider, strategic product role.
  • General knowledge of US ETF regulatory environment, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act and general relevant SEC rules.
  • Discipline and drive to help us develop a world-class Product control environment.
  • Drive to help build alignment across product teams, cross-functional partners (Marketing, Sales, Legal, Compliance, etc.), and Leadership/Executive team.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills required to manage data and prepare presentations. Familiarity with industry data sources (Bloomberg, Morningstar, ETF.com, ETFGI, etc.)

Overview

Leverage shares is looking for an associate counsel to build and manage its US ETF business. The candidate will report to the firm’s General Counsel.

Main Responsibilities

The Associate Counsel will be responsible for legal matters related to its US exchange-traded funds business. This includes review of 1940 Act fund registration statements, prospectuses, proxy statements, and other regulatory filings; analysis of investment, marketing and operational legal and compliance issues related to the funds; and work on mergers, product changes, and creation of new funds. The role also involves analysis and interpretation of applicable legal requirements, including implementation of new rules, and assisting in the preparation of materials for review by the funds’ boards of trustees.

  • JD and prior experience with the Investment Company Act of 1940, Investment Advisers Act and general regulatory compliance required. Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of related law firm experience.

  • Assist with FCA Consultative Papers, Policy Statements, Rule changes, and anything else related to the UK regulatory environment;
  • Provide guidance and stay up to date with any amendments in regards to different rules and regulations, specifically to legislation, policies, procedures, and practices in the EU/UK and identify how these changes impact our business;
  • Communicate issues and assist with regulatory inquiries;
  • Coordinate regulators and any other party of interest;
  • Manage compliance risk and establish a system of risk management;
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of legal and compliance cases;

Leverage shares is looking for a corporate paralegal to support the firm’s legal and product development teams. The candidate will report to the firm’s General Counsel.

This remote position will support the General Counsel and Head of Product Development with a broad array of duties that include:

  • Drafting legal documents such as offering documents, contracts, board minutes;
  • Preparation of UCC Financing Statements and Irish security filings;
  • Organizing and archiving documents;
  • Gathering, analyzing and interpreting applicable legal requirements, including interpretation of new legislation, decisions and legal articles, codes and other data;
  • Preparation of board packs;
  • Working closely with the product development team on product changes, creation of new products and the listing of products on various EU exchanges;
  • Additional duties as required.


What are we looking for

  • At least 3+ years of corporate law experience, with a law firm or relevant experience as a paralegal in the inhouse environment, preferably in the capital markets/investment funds/banking industries;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for both legal and non-legal audiences. Strong drafting skills (including legal disclosures, board materials, contracts and policies);

Main Responsibilities

This role requires frequent interaction at senior levels, quick problem-solving of listing/naming/trading issues for UK/Europe, US and any other existing or upcoming product listings, negotiation of sales & marketing collaborations, public relations, management of closing/opening bell events and sponsorships.

  • Monitor for any administrative, operational, or technical issues and quickly solve problems with as little communication as possible;
  • Work with internal & external compliance teams, index providers, market makers, exchanges, and any other vendor to ensure a clean, smooth & transparent working process;
  • Negotiate PR, sales & marketing collaborations to build a trustable brand;
  • Review, analyze and create reports of vendor offers, marketing activities, product performance reports, technical and operational issues, communication, spread or compliance issues;
